- Pemberton Lake - Pemberton, NJ -
Jim Jr. and Chuck Horner tried their luck at Pemberton Lake tonight. There was a lot of boat traffic this evening making it difficult, at best, to fish the more well known hot spots. Chuck caught the only fish of the night, a small Largemouth Bass.
- Indian Mills Lake - Shamong, NJ -
Jim Jr. and Chuck Horner fished at Indian Mills Lake this evening in search of some Largemouth Bass. Both anglers found what they were looking for tonight. 5 Largemouth were boated between the two this evening with Chuck catching 1 and Jim Jr. catching 4. The night was caught short when the shear pin in the trolling motor was damaged resulting in the anglers exchanging their fishing rods for an oar and a pushpole.
- Barnegat Inlet - Barnegat , NJ -
Jim Jr. and Capt. Ron Sr. headed out of Rick's Marina in Forked River, NJ this afternoon in search of Flounder and Bluefish. Jim Jr. managed to catch a small flounder in the area known as Double Creek, but was far short of the 16 1/2" minimum length. A quick trip outside into the Atlantic Ocean saw both anglers hook up with 6 Sand Sharks, all of which were in the 36" class.
- The Great Bay - Tuckerton, NJ -
Jim Jr., Jim Sr., Walt F., and Steve T. made their way out of Capt. Mikes in Tuckerton, NJ this morning in search of Summer Flounder, or Fluke. Out of the approx. 15 Fluke caught, none were keepers. Jim Sr. did hook into a 30" @ 7 lbs. Slammer Bluefish taking Fish of the Day honors.
- Parvin Lake - Pittsgrove, NJ -
The one that got away. Jim Jr. And Chris K. fished at Parvin Lake this morning. Jim Jr. hooked into the biggest Largemouth Bass he has ever had on the line in NJ this morning only to see her toss the hook on a picture perfect roll on top of the water. Both anglers sat speechless refusing to believe it just happend and also to be the first to speak after she came off. Jim Jr. later caught a much smaller Largemouth, but it was nothing in comparision to the one that got away. That's why they call it 'fishing' and not 'catching'.
- Mirror Lake - Browns Mills, NJ -
Memorial Day 2005. Jim Jr. and Jim Sr. set out to fish Pemberton Lake this morning. A parking lot full of boat trailers lead them to search elsewhere for fish. A quick detour to Mirror Lake in Browns Mills and the pair were on the water and fishing. A beautiful day for fishing...plenty of sunshine, a light breeze, and calm waters. Unfortunately, no fish. Maybe next time.
- White's Bogs - Browns Mills, NJ -
Jim Jr. and Chuck B. went in search of toothy critters, a.k.a. Chainside Pickerel this morning. An almost perfect day, with the exception of an ever increasing wind, saw both anglers catch 5 Pickerel each. There were many other aggressive hits from smaller Chainsides, but no more than the 10 hookups in total. You couldn't ask for a better day.
- Game Creek - Woodstown, NJ -
Jim Jr. and Chuck B., a.k.a. 'The Crappie King', went fishing for the first of the 2005 season on Game Creek today. With the exception of a small electrical fire on the 'My Lil' Biatch' and 'The King' taking an unplanned swim from shore, there was very little excitement today. TCK did manage to retain his title by catching the first fish of the season for Team Horner Fishing. If you guessed it was a Crappie, you would be 100% correct.
